Meet the Author


Courtland Consulting’s training expertise was recently tapped by Herman Miller (HMI), a $1.9 billion dollar office furniture manufacturer. After realizing they couldn’t match the pace of special training requests, they enlisted our help to quickly create several sets of training deliverables for their employees.

Courtland first delivered content for several product courses for their International Sales team. We first reviewed existing materials and held virtual meetings with subject matter experts to fully establish and understand the necessary objectives and design for the course. We then used our knowledge of effective content delivery to create courses delivered via the Internet for HMI employees.

Our project was so successful that we were next asked to undertake a conversion of existing marketing training materials to an easy-to-use, web-based format. The content need to be suited for a web-based training, self-study format, and the Courtland instructional designers rose to the challenge and split the content into manageable sections to make it appropriate for online training.

Our latest collaboration with Herman Miller was to help their online course materials achieve accreditation toward continuing education for architects and designers. We created learning objectives and quiz materials to achieve compliance with accreditation standards.
